Ok, so I have a little obsession with vanity license plates.

This thread will be way better with pictures, alas I didn’t have the foresight when I spotted my favorites.

Here are my favorites so far:

THE POPE (on a chevy avalanche. this is my all time favorite)

Bonuses. Sales people get em, stockbrokers get em… Why not dancecasters? I think it would be super fresh if we all gave the boys 25 bucks on the day episode 250 goes up. I’m gonna do it anyway, but the more people do it the better the bonus for our boys. If a hundred of us did it, it would be awesome- and there are thousands of uyd listeners out there so it could be huge! Seth could get new rims for the dance, jonathon could buy a case of uncle eddies cookies… Think about it…...do it. 250 hours of uyd should definitely be recognized.

Whats the worst thing about 3D? The glasses. Gunnar Optiks realized that and decided to come up with their own line of fashionable, pricey 3D glasses.

Let’s take them for a spin.
Loved

Stylin’: Today’s movie theater RealD 3D glasses are big headache-inducing affairs, so clunky that they manage to avoid being even geek chic. Enter the Gunnar 3D glasses with a choice of either Anime or Phenom frames, frames which look pretty great when you’re wearing them.

Comfy: These feather-weight glasses include spring-tension hinges and rubber grips. The three times I used them in movies I ended up forgetting they were even on my head. Fantastic fit and feel.
Hated

Pricey: It’s hard to make an argument for paying $100 for something you get for free every time you need to use them. Sure, the Gunnar 3D glasses are amazingly comfortable and look great, but they cost $100 more than what you usually use during a 3D movie. While you could in theory also use these for home viewing on a 3D television, they’ll only work on RealD 3D TVs. Now that makes sense.

I’m all for fashionable optics, but I’m not sure how relevant they are when you only wear them in a darkened theater. I think Gunnar should make the lenses interchangeable so you can pop them out and switch them with something that will protect your eyes from the sun too.

Phenom Graphite 3D glasses were developed by Gunnar Optiks. Retails for $99 USD. A pair of the glasses was given to us for reviewing purposes. Watched three movies with them on, mocked other theater-goers for their lame eyewear.

Last night I attended a work related function at an amusement park called THUNDER ROAD. They have go-karts and mini-golf and arcade games from 1994. My friend and I stopped at the lavatory before leaving. As I walked in I could see that there was some dude changing clothes in the stall. He had towels and pants and shirts and shoes on the floor in my line of site. Why he was changing at a non-swimming related amusement park is anybody’s guess. So I’m standing there, “draining the lizard”... as they say.. I say to my friend who is about 4 feet away from me separated by one unoccupied urinal, “When we get back to my place we can listen to that new music I got on itunes today.”. The guy in the stall changing says “we can do what?”. So I said to him, “I wasn’t talking to you. If I wanted a craigslist encounter I would have gone on the internet.”. He was speechless.

Yup. I’ve worked for the same company for the past 9 years….managed to get out of it what I wanted, including an all expense paid move back to the East coast (and I’m not even ‘management level’. Ew. Such evil terms…)...but that meant fulfilling a 2 year contract here in South Carolina….DONE!

I’ve got a month’s worth of paid vacation coming to me and some $$ saved…and it’s onwards to a new city/state next week. I couldn’t be happier!

But I couldn’t have survived here without UYD. *Thank you thank you thank you* for being a connection to humanity & hilarity.~~

(damn, I should’ve mentioned the show in my exit interview when Human Resources asked what ‘the company’ could do to improve…send all employees a link to UYD subscription, that’s what!)

Am I going to shamelessly plug my friend’s band?...

you can listen to their music free on their site and they will send you a copy of their new album fo free. Check em out. I wouldn’t subject The Nation to this if I didn’t truly think they were fresh. I guarantee you they’re like nothing you’ve ever heard. Very quirky, Ween-like in many ways, wear costumes on stage and use stage monikers (ie. Chill Bill and Maurice Selkirk), but not as a gimmick…they are all very talented musicians. Let them know me (Bill) referred you so that I’m loved. I’ve done a lot of the photography for them too if you check out the photo’s page.
