ive been using Reason for a couple of years now and make all kinds of music from cybergrind to indie pop to electronica.
i would love to see what ‘the nation’ thought about it!

This is for Nintendo DS and look what it can do—teach them well and let them lead the way!

Thats so awesome. I modded my DS with an R4, can you post some links? or PM me? My roommate had some pretty janky-ass sounding “music” program but…. pissy pillow….  (http://uhhyeahdude.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/1155/ <—somehow related)

I love my DS.

I was gonna post junk about the Korg DS-10 also! I just picked up DS-10 Plus and though I don’t really understand how to use it it’s pretty sweet cheap software. I’ve used it on intros for my podcast and for my limited knowledge it seems to work really well for that. I’m considering using it for background noise too, but it may need a bit too much babysitting for that.

Jah, if you haven’t played with the DS-10 yet you should check it out as it may compliment your other equipment (it’s likely to be redundant for you too though).

I’ve been wanting to get in production and this would be perfect.  I had fruity loops and some other program on my desk top years ago before it stroked out from the porns.
I’ve been meaning to hit you up jah jah and daedalus about the equipment you use during performances too.

Korg doin’ it again..Monotron is a two AAA-powered, pocket-sized analog synth featuring a ribbon keyboard, VCO, VCF, and LFO controls, and the same analog filter found in the Korg MS-10 and MS-20.Look for it in May for about $67.

I bought this app and I think it’s very awesome. Only major thing I would change would be the ability to actually OUTPUT some music files and not just a completed project, or a work in progress.

actual files, that could be mainipulated.

or just get a real system…. but this DS App is AWESOME and if any of you have a DS or even a remove interest in sequencing you should spend the 30 bucks and get this.

Between the 16 and 32 models the mpd-24 has great pads, endless rotaries, and faders but can be bought now at discount prices. With Ableton Live its an MPC on Steroids and on a budget.

I have found M-Audio which makes Prosumer level soundcards are available through independent computer stores so they can be had at competitive prices.

A basic version of Ableton Live now retails for like $100.

No stylus pen though.

[One of these days I’m going to have to post a track on here.]

ch1zzuh, I don’t exactly understand what you mean by the output files? Something other than just a straight line out of the headphones to the computer?

There is another DSi app coming along I think Monday, for 2 bucks that looks like a simplified version of DS10, but it still looks like it may be a decent compliment. I’ll see if I can find it and I’ll post back.
