Please consider being more self aware of how casually you guys are refer to women as “bitches”.

I know it’s comedy, and you guys are jokingly doing a Faux Hip Hop reference.  But it comes out pretty often. Every episode.

If you had a friend (who was way bigger then you and you couldn’t punch out ever) that jokingly called you “stupid”.  Once in a great while in a joke would be funny and easy to laugh off.  But if the same guy did it all the time and was like “Hey stupid.  Stupid.  What’s up stupid?  Stupid be makin’ a podcast.  Yo Stupid.  Look at stupid over here, hey!  Stupid sure likes Starbucks and TV. “

I bet it would eventually get to be kind of a bummer.

I’m only taking the time to mention it because I like the show a lot and it does get to be kind of a bummer.  Especially compounded with the fact that as I go about my life, I (and most women), sometimes have to deal with other dudes that are actual creeps.  I don’t think you guys are.

That was cute and I laughed.  Not uptight about a joke and am not overly sensitive just about a word.  I guess it’s just the casual (and constant) use with no thought behind it.  Every episode almost.  Kind of a drag.

i can’t stand when people take one aspect of something (music, shows, podcasts, talk radio, etc…) and get angry when they get offended. it’s like, they can make fun of any topic, race, religion, political views, opinions on movies/music, etc… and it’s hilarious, but if it hits your hot button issue for you personally, you’re like, “this is ridiculous. they’ve gone too far.”

i can’t stand that. it’s all good when somebody else is getting made fun of or whatever, but if it offends you yourself, F them. so stupid.

I personally think jokes about race and gender can be really funny. There is a lot of good material there.  I am not uptight about stuff.  I enjoy the show every week.  What I was talking about is the casual & frequent use of slurs, which is different than a joke.  Maybe I didn’t explain myself well, but in my first post the reason I made the little example about someone calling you “stupid” all the time is I tried to illustrate the difference and how tiring it can be.

Sorry, you can stand when this bothers other people!  Maybe you should try to have a little more empathy for your fellow people.  The only reason I brought up street harassment is I was trying to explain that people who object to slurs aren’t just objecting over the use of one word in one instance.  It’s about how that gets piled onto all other stuff people are dealing with such as discrimination or harassment.

Ok, real talk.

Know what I can’t stand? What I can’t stand is that no matter how carefully I chose my words in my original post, most some people are still acting like I am this enraged feminazi getting crazy angry over one joke and that hates the show.  Please reread my first post.  I never said anything about being angry or offended or thinking they are bad dudes.

Love the show.  Wish I could share and talk about it with my other lady friends. I think they would really like it as much as my dude friends.
