This is something I came across in my years in the printing business. This is basically someone’s job application. I have changed the names, dates and cities to protect the guilty. Some of the jargon might be a little foreign, but he’s talking about operating various large-scale commercial printing equipment. Here we go…

Carol,
Hello, my name is James Quall and I spoke to you on the phone around the 18th or so of Dec. about employment with your company. I told you I did not have a resume and you suggested I email some information about my skills.
I am a honorably discharged Persian Gulf War Vet. I got out of the Navy in 199x and started my carreer in printing then. I started out running an 8 color Flexograghic printing press. Printing mostly bags such as Fruit of the Loom, Huggies Diaper bags, Scotts Lawn care and so forth. I did this for about 5 years and then got into the offset side of printing. Started with the ABDick 9800 series and have run just about any thing you can imagine since. From Ryobi 3302 to Heildleberg 5 color GTO. I have run folders, stitchers, cutters, letter-press, foil stamp, score, number, and perf.
I really want to move back to Browntown. I currently live in Greentown, MN as I stated on the phone. I grew up in Yellowtown, ND on a farm. Would love to be closer to home. I got divorced in 2001 and took employment with Mr Quickie in Browntown. I worked there around 2 1/2 years and then went to ACME Company for about 1 1/2 years. During my time at ACME I had an operation that resulted in a fused ankle. Had job offer as a General Manager in Wanker ND and left ACME to move there. 15 kids from there, including my graphic designer, broke my door down while I was watching tv after work one night, and beat me pretty baddly putting me in the hospital. So I left there and came to the cities to stay with my girlfriend. Running a 5 color GTO. I am now currently unemployed.
I would appreciate a phone call when you get this email and let me know if you are interested or not either way. I thank you so much for your time and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Sincerely,
James Quall
