so, while listening to a recent back episode ( around the 122 mark. Ive been listening for about 5 months ) a couple weeks ago, i finally got the guts to call the 888 voicemail number and leave a message.

i didnt know what i would say or what context it would be, but i just knew this:

Seth and Jonathan provide me and thousands others with an hour a week of amazing comedic brilliance, and a simple ” thank you” is the least i could give back. My driving to and from work wouldnt be nearly as awesome without UYD, my nights at home while cleaning would not be informed with the amazingly dumb things that happen in america and so on, if UYD didnt come into my life.

So, i call and leave a message, more so geared at Seth, because ive sent a text or three Jonathans way and i figured, ” shit, Seth needs to be appreciated too”. I basically just left a message thanking the dudes for providing me and my friends with countless hours of laughs and entertainment, and that my week wouldnt go by as fast if it wasnt for them providing us with this free and amazing hour of comedic gold.
i have never laughed so hard in my life due to Seth and Jonathan. And i laugh a lot.

Needless to say, my call didn’t go un-noticed, and made me realize that Seth and Jonathan are a truly unique and amazing duo that are genuinely down with their listeners.

I agree…While driving out to California from Iowa on a road trip with friends, Seth was more than happy to meet up with us and have conversation.

Good post. I agree as well. I wanted to call Seth last night after the Cowboys lost ( :( ) but I figured he would be too crushed.

You should have just cuz hes a fraudulent fan from MAss thats a cowboys fan, he deserves it.

who is this “seth” and “jonathan” you speak of? should i know them?

I wouldve thought Seth would be too busy… like getting the Sundance detailed or watching his shows.

Hahaa my guy is a Giants fan, he called and said only sweet things to him about last night’s game… like ‘oh hey sorry Tony Romo’s clavicle is broken.. just a month or so he’ll be back tho, right?? Tough game.’ 

...Although Eli is a dumbo. But I’m not a sports person so please don’t quote this then be all ‘what about this ish?’ I don’t know.

Eli leads the league in needing his binky and balls that should be intercepted.

Romo will probably be out for the season. They are estimating 6-8 weeks right now, but that doesn’t mean anything. I mean, after 8 weeks off, there are only going to be 2 more regular season games, and I don’t think that Kitna will be able to have them overcome the 5 losses they already have.

It’s a dark season for the Cowboys.

i really expected more of them this year

with this many football fans around here, we should have a fantasy league next year!

I would LOVE to do a fantasy league, but I’m just a homer that I don’t know much about other teams/players.

ive listened to every ep at least twice and dont recall them ever hating on fantasy. that may be because all my brain cells have gone on a permanent vacation though so what the fuck do i know

That’s a request for Weck… but I do remember them making fun of the Fantasy thing. It was mostly Jah talking about how it’s like taking sports to the ultimate D&D nerddom and how fucking EVERYONE is doing it. Except him, and I guess, me.

I have a theory on why UYD rule.
They’re just so much hipper than I can ever be.
Even though i’m a full grown man I still feel like a little kid who’s older brother allowed him to hang out and play super nintendo when I listen to UYD.

Speaking of football, I left a voicemail about how the Cowboys and Seth called me back like 2 hours later (I was passed out) and left a detailed voicemail on how the Cowboys are going to come back.

I hope he’s right.
