So we’ve had this thread before (http://uhhyeahdude.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/487/), but not recently that I can see (apologies if I missed something).
What’s the best episode to get an entirely new person into UYD? I’ve linked people to some of the youtube clips and they liked them, but what’s the best full episodes to link new people to?
i think that i’ve settled on suggesting the most recent ep. i mean, really, they are on point every single week and listening to the latest ep is going to mean everything they are talking about is current.
honestly i think there is enough in any episode to get someone interested to further explore the show. here are some other threads with favorite eps to suggest to people once they are fully enveloped in UYD:

Youtube vids are awesome, I’ve gotten a few people with them. My favorite is the vegan loads one… the look on Seth’s face as he tilts his head back and stares at Jonathan is too much, I couldn’t stop laughing the first time I saw it. It really does a lot to illustrate the vibe of the show and of their personalities, and puts faces behind the voices.

gotta agree there… people who i have converted have generally requested low overhead to get their foot in the door. its way easier to send them to the site and have them listen to the most recent episode than to have them track down an old one. think about the last few weeks, the boys have been on fire as per usual so why not let it ride and tell your friends to jump right into the flow

I started somewhere around 242 and have been working my way backwards. I recently listened to 151 and I think it might be my favorite. Jah’s letters from sleep away camp and the Lou Ferrigno/dog story. I might have to suggest that one. I couldn’t stop laughing on public transit when I was listening to that one. Trust.

I showed my friend the vid where Seth described being fucked up in McDonalds and seeing a little black boy with a middle aged white pedo. “No it was probably his kid. Just dipping back in to 29 and its hilarious and representative of the shows, so I thought I’d post up here. I usually suggest that people listen to the new eps. When I’ve introduced the earliest shows to folks and get two concerns: Is Jah racist? and Are they homophobic? I just tell people to trust, that they’ll see that the boys are genuinely good people and they (especially Jah) are just pretty oblivious at first. It seems to so hurt their feelings that people actually think they’re racist or homophobic that you hear them reel it in over the weeks. I try to warn people I know are sensitive to that kind of thing when they inevitably fall in love with UYD and decide to take the long journey from 1 to 259.
Usually, I first introduce people to the videos, which is how I got into it. My husband kept trying to get me to listen, but shamefully, I only gave it a chance after I saw the videos and how cute the boys are. Now, I show the videos to everyone. Best vids are 20s bjs and Denny’s menu.

I was thinking about Schneere and Latern the other week, showed that part of my friends, and both of them downloaded it. 139 has confirmed results.

There were some solid eps this past summer, particularly 226 (Seth’s riff on that woman who impersonated a 16 year old boy) and 227 (big clits, huh?).
Denny’s menu is the BEST video to get people started! I think that was my first UYD experience, and they just keep getting better and better.
